How "yarn-made ideas" were born. And how this blog was born too.
Rumirù it's an idea that takes form in summer 2010, during daily commuting by train. At that time I was doing a commuter life, to go to work in Rome every day -- and I had the need to use at best my free time on the train. Truly, the need was also to have something creative to keep my mind busy during such repetitive travelling hours. I needed to break that monotony and keep my mind open to creativity or I’d probably loose all my inspiration of the moment.
So, I started to crochet small things. Objects that I could eventually keep in my handbag. That’s how the first crocheted tarts were born. Then other small things came along. And the name Rumirù too was chosen.
I liked something, a word or better a sound –- that didn’t mean anything and that was not strictly related to “knitting” or “crochet” but to the ideas my fantasy would have created from time to time.
After nearly one year of creativity and presence on the Internet, a website and more than an e-shop, another need raised for me: I wanted to talk about the inspirations that nurture my creations and how I can combine energy and ideas around me. Honestly I got tired of these “one-thousand to one-thousand” interactions of some famous social networks. I wanted a quite and silent place where people could “discover and admire” things I do. Only people willing to.
Welcome in the garden of Rumirù.
